Singapore Amalgamated Services Co-operative Organisation Limited (SASCO Ltd) was established in 1933 as a co-ordinating body for 12 credit co-operatives who were its institutional members.
SASCO’s objectives then was to provide a central organisation to facilitate coordination, collaboration, and dissemination of information amongst the growing number of co-operative societies.
In 1982, the Singapore National Cooperative Federation Ltd” (SNCF) was established at the national level to serve as the apex organization for all co-operatives in Singapore. Thus, SASCO transformed its role as the lead cooperative to provide affordable community based programmes, so as to make a difference in our citizens’ lives.
Today, SASCO is committed to serve 2 vital social needs – elderly care and child care services. It currently operates 5 childcare centres in Whampoa, Bedok, Bukit Purmei and Tanjong Pagar. As a non-profit organisation, SASCO is passionate about nurturing the lives of children and making learning fun and engaging for them.
SASCO is an affiliate of the Singapore National Co-operative Federation Ltd (SNCF).
